How Costory connects to BigQuery
Costory queries your BigQuery tables live, as external metrics in Advanced Explorer. You share one dataset with the Costory service account (BigQuery Data Viewer and Metadata Viewer on the dataset, no project level role), validate the project, then pick a table, its date field and the value column.
Costory does not copy the table. BigQuery spend itself comes from the GCP billing export and is allocated by projects, datasets and dbt model labels.
